Serve the toddler plain salmon and plain asparagus spears, both cut into small pieces.

Recipe

1

Preheat the air fryer to 200°C for 3 minutes.

2

In a small bowl, mix 2 tbsp white miso paste, 2 tbsp sake kasu, 1 tbsp mirin, and 1 tbsp soy sauce until smooth. Place 2 salmon fillets in a shallow dish and coat both sides with the marinade. Let marinate at room temperature for 5 minutes.

child_care Set aside one salmon fillet before marinating for the toddler's plain portion.
3

Trim the woody ends off 200g asparagus and toss with 1 tbsp olive oil, ¼ tsp salt, and ¼ tsp black pepper. Place the asparagus in the air fryer basket. Cook at 200°C for 5 minutes, shaking the basket halfway.

child_care Remove a few asparagus spears before seasoning for the toddler's plain portion.
4

Remove the basket, push asparagus to one side, and place the marinated salmon fillets skin-side down in the basket. Cook at 200°C for 8–10 minutes, until the salmon flakes easily and reaches an internal temperature of 63°C.

child_care Add the plain salmon fillet to the basket alongside the marinated one, but cook for only 6–8 minutes for the toddler's piece.
5

Sprinkle the salmon and asparagus with 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds. Serve immediately.

child_care Skip sesame seeds on the toddler's portion.
