For the toddler, serve plain fish pieces, plain rice, and a few cucumber sticks on the side.

Recipe

1

Preheat the air fryer to 200°C for 3 minutes.

2

In a bowl, mix yogurt, gram flour, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, red chili powder, cumin seeds, and salt. Cut fish into 4 pieces, coat with the marinade, and set aside for 5 minutes.

child_care Before adding spices, set aside 1 fish piece for the toddler; coat it only with yogurt and a pinch of salt.
3

Rinse rice and place in a microwave-safe bowl with water and a pinch of salt. Microwave on high for 10 minutes, then fluff with a fork. Meanwhile, slice cucumber into sticks.

child_care Set aside a small portion of plain rice for the toddler before adding lemon.
4

Place marinated fish in the air fryer basket. Spray with oil. Cook at 200°C for 8–10 minutes, until golden and flaky (internal temperature 63°C).

child_care Place the plain yogurt-coated fish piece in a separate corner of the basket; it may cook slightly faster.
5

Squeeze lemon juice over the rice and toss. Serve fish with lemon rice, cucumber sticks, and garnish with fresh coriander.

child_care For the toddler plate, serve the plain fish, plain rice, and cucumber sticks; skip coriander.
